Tellabration News
1.
Marketing Ideas – it’s all of us making connections – Please
connect wherever you can!
A Tellabration flyer is available on-line: http://www.storycircleatproctors.org/Tell%20flyer7-22-2010.pdf Flyers printed on colored
paper are also available from Kate Dudding – please contact her and let her
know how many you want: 383-4620 or kate@katedudding.com
Immediately
begin marketing to groups of adults, since groups need time to plan
their events. The committee asks all Story Circle members to give a flyer to
each adult group they belong to, such as: Senior centers; Groups at places
of worship; Red Hat groups; Book clubs; Friends of libraries and Service groups
Ideally, each member of Story Circle will contact five groups. If
you are emailing people, you can also refer them to our Tellabration web
page: www.storycircleatproctors.org/tellabration.shtml
2. Refreshments: Nancy Payne has volunteered to chair the
refreshments. Please contact Nancy
if you can help with the refreshments: 872-2209 nmpmountaintop@juno.com
3. We still need chairs for the following Tellabration activities:
Artists’ Table
Discount Distributors (give out $2 bills to newcomers as they enter the
GE Theatre)

We already have the following volunteers:

Copy Editors Carol Connolly and

House Manager Kate Dudding
Program Design Kate Dudding
Publicity

4. It’s time to start selling program ads. Ask store owners who
know you. A $50 ad gets them 2 free tickets (a $24 value.) Ads typically bring
in $400 so the more we get, the more library programs can be underwritten. The
form to buy an ad is available from Kate and is also on the web site http://www.storycircleatproctors.org/Ad-Form-7-22-2010.pdf
5. Commit
to selling 10 tickets, either by buying 10 tickets at the group rate
ticket price($10) and reselling them, or referring folks. A full house is
a major success for supporting storytelling regionally which is a main Story Circle goal.
We're excited -- we hope you are too!
Joe Doolittle and Kate Dudding, Producers, Tellabration
Among Ourselves
Eileen
Egan Mack
had the opportunity to share the story and stories of Jeanne Robert Foster
at Trinity College Dublin this fall as part of the John Butler Yeats
Seminar. The audience was able to see the connection between Yeats and Jeanne
Robert Foster and realize the influence his mentoring had on her writing. And
Eileen tells us that of course they loved meeting Jeanne's neighbors of
yesterday. Her show is called Voice of the Mountains: Jeanne Robert Foster,
An Adirondack Legacy. Perhaps we can persuade
her to bring it to the Capital District soon.
Send
your good vibrations to Carol Connolly and Don Darmer. Don
recently had surgery and one week later, on September 21, he and Carol were in
a car accident. They are both ok but I am sure they would appreciate a note or
phone call. Stay safe out there!
